NASA-COSGC High-Altitude Cyanobacteria Research Project
Investigated the effects of a high-altitude environment on cyanobacteria through a NASA-COSGC undergraduate research project. Conducted laboratory work involving cyanobacteria culture and experimental preparation for a high-altitude balloon flight reaching approximately 10,000 ft. Contributed to Arduino-based instrumentation and analyzed experimental data collected following the flight to evaluate cyanobacterial responses to the high-altitude environment. Presented the work through the NASA-COSGC Undergraduate Research Symposium.
NASA-COSGC RockOn! Sounding Rocket Instrumentation Project
Developed instrumentation for a NASA-COSGC RockOn! sounding-rocket research project focused on measuring background radiation and detecting radiation variations associated with mineral deposits. Contributed to a Geiger-counter-based measurement system using C, Arduino, and MATLAB. The experimental hardware was integrated into the payload and flown aboard the sounding rocket, enabling data collection during flight. Collaborated with the project team on programming, instrumentation development, testing, and preparation of the flight hardware.
